EdgeSlider Lite
Direct, seamless volume control along the edge of the screen.
EdgeSlider Lite is a powerful and simple tool that provides a thin, invisible, non-intrusive slider along the left or right edge of the screen to directly control media volume at all times. It is highly responsive and offers precise and quick adjustments by sliding your finger along the edge. Whether you're watching a movie or listening to music or audio messages, this app makes adjusting the volume quick and easy. It's easy to set up and runs as a background service with minimal resource usage.
EdgeSlider Lite can extend the life of volume buttons by reducing wear and tear. Also great for devices with broken hardware volume buttons!
To launch it, simply open the app, adjust the options as needed, and enable EdgeSlider via the master switch. (The first time, you'll need to grant some permissions depending on your device.) Once the master switch is on, you can close the app (EdgeSlider Lite will continue to run in the background). There will be an icon in the status bar indicating that the service is active.
This app is free and contains no ads. It is the lite version of the full app "EdgeSlider Pro". It contains a Pro demo mode that demonstrates the Pro functionality for a minute at a time so you can arummy plus evaluate whether the paid version is for you.
EdgeSlider Lite Features:

Pro features include:
- Fully customizable volume AND/OR brightness control: control volume only, brightness only or both, left or right side or both at the same time, full height or half height with top, bottom or center positioning
- Optionally: When changing the volume, the graphical system volume slider appears briefly, giving quick access to the other volume channels
- Brightness can be set to linear or exponential control
- Quick disable gesture: swipe horizontally from the edge to the center of the screen to temporarily disable (10s) the slider on that edge
- ***NEW*** Experimental feature: VOLUME BOOSTER. Sliding past maximum volume will show buttons for up to 3 levels of volume gain. However, it does not work on some devices. Use demo mode to determine if your device is supported.
Permissions:
1. Display over other apps: Required to always be accessible from the home screen or an app running in the foreground. You should always be careful with apps that require this permission, as it gives access to screen content and allows you to capture user input. For your peace of mind, this app has no network permissions, so there is no way to send data outside the app.
2. Modify System Settings: This is only needed to control the screen brightness in Pro demo mode.
3. Run on startup: This is necessary to automatically re-enable the service if it was active before restarting the device.
4. Allow notifications for Android 13 or newer. This is necessary to display the icon in the status bar. Otherwise, the service will be terminated by the system after some time.
Note 1: In some cases and depending on your device, system battery optimization may terminate the service and the icon in the status bar will disappear. In this case, we recommend manually disabling the app's battery optimization (via system settings or app information).
Note 2: The icon is required on Android 8+ for any service to continue running in the background.
